Hello gardeners! We hope your winter planning season went well. (you have been planning your spring garden, haven’t you?) More now than ever, it is important for you to be food independent, and as a result we’ll have a bumper supply of seedlings available.  Please call for availability though as weather during the next few weeks may affect the supply. IMPORTANT NOTICE! Every Saturday, starting April 31, 10am-2pm, I will be set up at Roscoes, 94 Green River Rd, Zirconia. Click HERE for a map.

All tomato seedlings when available in 3″ pots, $1.50/pot. 32 pots per tray: $40.00

Roma

A prolific heirloom that produces an abundant crop of richly flavored, 3″, red pear tomatoes that are perfect for cooking but sweet enough to enjoy fresh. Meaty with few seeds. Great for canning, adding to sauces, or making paste.

San Marzano

Our new favorite heirloom! San Marzano tomatoes, a variety of plum tomatoes, are considered by many chefs to be the best sauce tomatoes in the world. Compared to the Roma tomatoes with which most people are familiar, Marzano tomatoes are thinner and pointier in shape. The flesh is much thicker with fewer seeds, and the taste is much stronger, more sweet and less acidic.

Speckled Roman

(Solanum lycopersicum) Developed by SSE member John Swenson as a result of a stabilized cross of Antique Roman and Banana Legs. Gorgeous 5″ long fruits with jagged orange and yellow stripes. Meaty flesh with few seeds. Great tomato taste, ideal for processing and fresh eating. Very productive.
