Cold Tolerant tomato plants will set fruit even if night time temps dip into the upper 30’s. Some will survive even a light frost. Heat tolerant tomato plants will continue to set fruit at 70+ degree night time temps.

Arkansas Traveler – HEAT TOLERANT

A 100 year old heirloom tomato that was grown throughout the South from northwest Arkansas to North Carolina. Considered to be one of the best tasting tomato varieties with well balanced sweet/tart flavors, this classic pink heirloom has traveled widely because of its solid dependability and distinct flavor. Tolerates high heat and humidity and is resistant to cracking. Indeterminate. Days to maturity: 85

Better Boy

America’s most popular hybrid tomato for generations won a Guinness Award for producing 342 lbs. of fruit from only one plant! Boasts a distinct, always pleasing taste and bountiful, mid-season-until-frost production of sandwich-sized slices. Fruits weigh about a lb. and are juicy but firm. Good protection against the scalding sun. Excellent disease resistance and high adaptability. Indeterminate. Days to maturity: 75

Celebrity

The most disease-resistant tomato of all enjoys great versatility in all types of growing conditions. This highly publicized AAS Winner captured the home garden and commercial market spotlight long ago and remains the bench-mark of success. Deeply oblate 8-oz. fruits ripen to bright red on medium sized plants. Best grown staked or caged, although semi-determinate. Days to maturity: 70

Caspian Pink

The ‘Caspian Pink’ Tomato Plant has an awesome flavor. Many tomato connoisseurs prefer the taste to that of other heirlooms. Fruits are mild yet sweet, and are large, meaty and succulent; therefore the Caspian Pink lends itself well to slicing for garnish or sandwiches. Originally grown in Russia in the area between the Caspian and Black Seas. Days to maturity: 80

Early Girl

Extra-early abundant yields of full-sized, 4 to 6-oz. fruits make this longtime favorite the most popular early tomato. Meaty, bright crimson fruits are a bit flattened, with firm flesh and smooth skins. Appealing looks and fabulous flavor. Indeterminate. Days to maturity: 57

German Johnson

German Johnson tomatoes, which originated in the southern United States, are one of four parent lines that created the hybrid “Mortgage Lifter” tomato. German Johnson tomato plants produce large, meaty fruit with pink flesh and bright red skin with streaks of yellow at the top. The indeterminate vines grow up to five feet. Days to maturity: 80

Rutgers

Originally developed in the 1920’s by Campbell Soup Company and improved by Rutgers University in the 1940’s, Rutgers Improved heirloom tomato produces 6-8 ounce fruit with rich, meaty flavor on a compact determinate vine. Perfect home garden variety but also is a strong producer for farmers markets or farm stand sales. Great canning tomato and also good for fresh eating and salsas. Days to maturity: 78
